More effective training through music

More effective training - why you should listen to music during your workouts

Maybe you have already noticed?

We have last week in our PAKAMA Training App on Android launched our new music feature. With it, you can listen to your own music during your PAKAMA workouts via Spotify.
Don't worry, this option will be available on IOS soon!

As if we had known: It was namely scientifically proventhat listening to music during sports has many advantages!

More positive and intense perception of the sport activity

The (probably) biggest influence of music during sports is that you feel better and more positive during your workout and perceive your sports activity more intensely. You feel more positive about your workout.

Increase of motivation & reduction of effort perception

Music is a performance enhancer and motivator.

If you feel better about your workout because of the music, you will most likely continue, repeat and perform the workout program regularly. So listening to music motivates you. Additionally, your performance will increase as you become fitter and stronger due to the regular repetitions.

However, the sensation of effort is reduced by listening to music. You intuitively perceive less effort during exercise.
It has also been shown that athletes train more intensively with musical support than without. One reason for this is that during training, people initially focus more on the music than on the pain or other symptoms.

Improved oxygen consumption

It has been found that your physiology, such as heart rate, is not affected by listening to music during exercise - at least not consistently. However, there is evidence that listening to music optimizes your body's oxygen consumption.

In other words, you can breathe more evenly to the beat of the music. The main thing is that the beat is regular.

Performance & speed increase

Researchers found that listening to music while exercising also has an impact on your overall performance.
That's actually hard to imagine, since you can't listen to music during many sports - for example, soccer players don't wear headphones during the game. Nevertheless, according to studies, music has a performance-enhancing effect.

In addition, music with a speed of, say, 120 bpm has a more efficient effect than slow music. Easy to understand. Maybe a slow music track is not really high performance motivating.

These are the songs we especially like to listen to during training:

Endor - Pump it up

Johannes Heil - Transition Six

Kanye West - Stronger

Waykap - My Way

Taio Cruz - Hangover (Hardwell Remix)

Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says

Whether you're doing your workouts at home or exercising outdoors, listen to music while you do it!
